Evan Durland was awarded the Best Student Presentation Award at the 2016 Triennial Meeting. He was selected from a pool of USAS student members who presented research in Las Vegas. His presentation was titled, “BREEDING PACIFIC OYSTERS Crassostrea gigas FOR RESILIENCE TO CHANGING OCEAN CONDITIONS”.
The runner up was Karen Jensen from the University of Alabama, Birmingham. Her presentation was titled, "URCHIN EGESTA FORMATION AND COMPOSITION AND ITS TROPHIC ROLE IN A POLYCULTURE SYSTEM."
